Movie in the Parks Begins Friday, June 20!

 

 

Join Parks, Recreation and Community Facilities this Friday, June 20 at Byrd Park (near Fountain Lake), 600 south Boulevard at 8 p.m. to see Despicable Me 2 rated PG Animated.

 

The movie will start around 8:30 p.m. or when it gets dark. Bring your blanket or chair and enjoy the movie. Refreshments will be on sale. Free sodas to the first 300 attendees.

Movies in the Park Starts Friday

The department will officially kick off its annual Movies in the Park program Friday, June 21 in Byrd Park beside Fountain Lake with a showing of Madagascar 3.

     The annual series of free movies will be held every Friday night in a different park through August 16. The movies will begin at 8:30 p.m., or as soon as it’s dark, and families are invited to bring their own blankets or chairs and refreshments and enjoy the free PG-rated movies in the park. Vendors will also have refreshments for sale, and prior to each movie RVA Hoop House will provide hula hoop activities for all to enjoy. 

     This year’s series, co-sponsored by Pepsi, the CW Richmond, Bounce Richmond, and 106.5 the Beat, is scheduled as follows:

Free Movies in the Parks

The department will kick off its series of free family movies, Movies in the Park, on Friday, June 15, at 8:30 p.m. with a showing of "The Muppets” in Byrd Park. The movie will be shown on the lawn beside Fountain Lake, which is located beside the 500 block of South Boulevard.

     The series will continue through Aug. 17 with free PG rated or PG-13 rated movies in parks around the city every Friday night at 8:30 p.m. The schedule is as follows:
